Network Connection and Infrastructure
The Local Area Network (LAN) interfaces are provided by a Cisco single port 100Mbps Full Duplex Fast Ethernet port adapter, and by a Cisco eight port 10 Mbps Half Duplex Ethernet port adapter. All port adapters are mounted on Cisco's Versatile Interface Coprocessor Cards to further enhance performance. Local area network is Ethernet based, using Cisco Catalyst 2800 Switched Ethernet hubs capable of up to 320 Mbps of aggregated 100Mbps/10Mbps Ethernet traffic. In Huntsville we operate separate Switched 10Mbps Ethernet LAN's for our virtual hosting server farm, our office administration and monitoring network, and a 100Mbps LAN for domain servers and Network Access servers. |
