SAVVIS Opens New Chicago Data Center Featuring Proximity Hosting

New Facility Provides Very Low Latency Direct Sourcing of Two Major Financial
Exchanges Located Inside the Data Center
NEW YORK CITY -- (Securities Industries and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA)
Technology Management Conference) June 9, 2008 Responding to growing
customer demand for integrated hosting and network services, SAVVIS, Inc. (NASDAQ:SVVS),
a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business applications, today
announced the opening of its new Chicago data center.
In addition to the full suite of SAVVIS Managed Hosting services, this facility
will offer financial customers the ability to host their trading applications in
close proximity to two major derivatives markets via SAVVIS Proximity Hosting.
Customers will also be able to connect to the facility with low latency Ethernet
using the SAVVIS Exchange Express service.
IntercontinentalExchange (ICE) is one of the two preeminent exchanges located
within the data center. SAVVIS Proximity solution enables low latency access to
the ICE trading platform, one of the fastest derivatives trading platforms in
the industry.
The facility is SAVVIS second in Chicago and creates added capacity to serve
new and existing clients. It features approximately 20,000 square feet of raised
floor space and more than 160 watts per square foot of power. Additionally, to
meet the growing needs of enterprise IT the facility provides colocation,
managed hosting, virtualized and utility computing, managed networks, and
managed security services.
